We recently had an early snowstorm in our area.
I wasn’t expecting it to get this cold, this quickly.
I called the HVAC company and asked to have a technician come out and service my furnace before we turned it on. The snow came the night before the HVAC technician was to be at the house. They gave me a time of 8 AM, and I was worried the HVAC technician wouldn’t make it. No one was expecting the snow, and the roads were pretty messed up. I got a phone call somewhere around 9 AM. The secretary at the HVAC company called and said the technician was running late because of the road conditions. I appreciated the phone call and knew the HVAC tech would be here when he got here. The sun came out that afternoon, and the snow was melting, but almost a foot of snow takes a while to melt and it leaves a slushy mess. When the HVAC technician finally arrived, he put on booties before coming into the house and headed downstairs to the furnace. It took him less than an hour to do the inspection and some maintenance. On his way out, he slid in the snow and fell on his butt. I couldn’t help but laugh when he fell. One leg went one way, the other leg went the other way, and he slid gracefully on his butt, halfway across the yard. He was embarrassed, but he side the only thing that hurt was his pride. I’m sure he’ll be sore and get some teasing when he went to work the next day.
