Helped me get physically back

It’s funny to know about now, but the first trip to the gym was just a tour so I could familiarize myself with the arena

When I was in high school some pals of mine were partying. Both of us were driving around in a pickup truck drinking booze late at evening. There were more than 2 of us in the bed of the truck, and at this point both of us were all pretty wasted… including the driver. She took a turn too suddenly, and the truck went into a ditch. Upon impact, all of us in the bed of the truck went flying. No 1 else was badly hurt, but I ruined my spine. Ever since then, for the last ten years, I have worked with a personal trainer to try and rehab my damaged back and legs. At first I had to do a workout program from my bed, and after a few weeks I could sit up. Over the next few months my personal trainer adjusted my workouts gradually, taking luck of my newfound mobility. I was out of bed, but still limited to the home office for a while, until both of us were ready to take our first trip to the gym. It’s funny to know about now, but the first trip to the gym was just a tour so I could familiarize myself with the arena. I was too tired from the tour to truly workout while I was at the gym that first time! I have improved a lot since then. I still check in with my personal trainer once a week, I usually go to the gym by myself. I would absolutely not use a personal trainer at all, but both of us have grown genuinely close over the years.
