I will never forget this one really bad winter we had when I was growing up.
- It was so cold that everyone’s central heating and furnaces were cranked all the time.
This resulted in the highest electric bills anyone had ever experienced in those days. Very comparable to what the normal electric bills are today in the winter months, but back then it was unheard of. Today there is a way around this which we did not have back then. And that is you can reduce your electric bills by reducing the use of your central heating and air conditioning system. The way to do that is to get portable HVAC equipment to run in conjunction with the central heating or air conditioning. If this was possible all those years ago when we had that brutal winter, a lot of folks would have been a lot happier. But back then there was no portable space heaters. They had space heaters, but they were not portable and did not have the power to heat an entire large living space. You could only use them in smaller bedrooms and bathrooms when you would take a shower and needed to get the chill out of the air. Heating and air conditioning technology has sure changed today and advanced for the better. Especially when it comes to portable heaters and portable air conditioning systems. I have a portable space heater today and a portable air conditioner as well. And these both help keep my electric bills down even in the most extreme weather.
