Installing a new feed and return in my newly renovated basement

My husband and I had our home built about ten years ago.

In that ten years we slowly updated our house. Our appliances definitely needed some updating. Just recently we took our appliances and sold them to a friend. In that ten years we felt like we needed to have something different with our appliances because we wanted something more technologically advanced. When our house was built we decided to have our basement unfinished. We decided that eventually we would do our basement, but we didn’t realize that it would take us ten years. Recently we put in a bar, a brand new TV and a couch to go along with it. My husband and I want to install a new feed and return into our newly renovated basement. I want to be able to enjoy heat and air conditioning when I’m down there. To do this I have to go into the main heating duct and the return ducts. The first thing that I need to do is find a reasonable spot to add my feed to my drop ceiling downstairs. I don’t know what more I can do so I think I am going to contact my HVAC technician for some extra help and professional advice. I don’t want to make the wrong move. If I do then I feel like I will waste a lot of money and all of the work that I did. I also want to be able to feel comfortable through my HVAC system knowing that it was done professionally.
