Ed, my HVAC coworker, and I are regularly arguing.
He is actually the most stubborn individual I’ve ever encountered.
He believes he understands basically everything and is constantly attempting to prove me wrong. My fantastic pal and I work for a giant HVAC contractor, and our tasks are ensuring the heating, ventilation, and a/c appliances are in fantastic working order. It seems like every morning we have an argument about everything. It can range from the best method to repair a broken fan to the most effective way to cool a space. It just seems that we regularly disagree on just about everything. But eventually, things started to change. As time went by, our disagreements helped us find much nicer solutions to the actual issues, and one morning we were tasked with repairing an HVAC appliance in a giant supplier building. My fantastic friend and I knew we had to do it correctly, but Ed and I started arguing again as we tried to find the best method to solve the setback. This time though, it was different. Rather than become aggravated, I chose to look at Ed’s viewpoint. It was strange at first however as it turned out, he had a wonderful idea that I never thought about. So we made the decision to put his idea into action, and it worked out quite nicely. Things between Ed and me changed after that morning. My fantastic pal and I still fought though, however we started to listen to each other’s views. Our disagreements turned into fairly healthy discussions. This resulted in us finding better answers to the setbacks we encounter. It turned out that Ed’s stubbornness absolutely helped us become more skilled at problem solving. Periodically you just need to communicate in an improved way.
