I’ve been trying to get out hiking a lot more in the last few months.
I had to stop when I took a new job that was consuming all of my time.
And I was lucky if I could get outside of my house for a walk a few times on my way home from the office. Now that I work remotely, I have a lot more freedom in my life. I can get my work done in the hours when it’s most convenient for me. And that means I can set aside time to go hiking in the afternoon hours on random days throughout the week. It’s a lot more fulfilling to me this way compared to my old life and my old job. Recently I found a new park in my county that I wasn’t even aware of in the last 20 years I’ve been living here. It has miles of hiking trails and it’s not even frequented that often by locals. That means you can go and enjoy nature without much disturbance from other people. Recently I got a chance to head out to that park for a few hours while I got my new air conditioner installed. I left the HVAC workers at my house to do the installation work while I was busy hiking in the woods. It was a really nice way to spend the afternoon while I got my new air conditioner installed. And the two HVAC technicians did a really good job. I got a good deal on the air conditioner, and I also got a discount on a yearly maintenance contract. My air conditioner is installed and ready to go for years to come. I’m also glad it has a 10 year manufacturer warranty on it.
