My friends and I went to the football game on Sunday night.
We have season tickets and pretty good seats where we can see all of the action on the field.
We’re on the home side near the 50 yard line. We usually go to all of the home games. Sunday night it was going to be 10° outside and I wasn’t looking forward to spending the evening in the open air arena. I put on my long underwear and two long sleeve t-shirts. I also put on a bomber jacket and a hat. I had a pair of ski gloves in my pocket. I had a couple of hand warmer packets. When you activate the chemicals inside, the packets get really hot and act like little tiny heaters. When it gets really cold I put the heaters inside of my gloves or my boots. My friends and I also take blankets so we can try to stay warm. Everyone in the home stands do what they can to cheer on the team even when it’s cold. There wasn’t snow in the forecast on Sunday night, but it snowed lightly all during the first and second quarter. I was really cold at halftime so I went into the area where the food is located. That area of the arena actually has some radiant heaters outside. The heaters provide a lot of warmth and make it feel like it is 50 or 60° instead of single digits. I didn’t want to leave the radiant heated area, but the football game was close. My friends and I stayed until it was over.
