Emergency furnace service because of neglected service

When I first raised the thermostat setting in the fall, the furnace started up separate from any problem. However, there was a musty aroma as well as quite a bit of dust coming from the vents. I hoped that these concerns were caused by laying idle from mid May until the end of October… Unblessedly, this past Winter time was especially brutal. The people I was with and I experienced temperatures down to disadvantage twenty-more than four degrees. The conditions were well below cold for weeks at a time, as well as the wind chill made the air know even colder. The furnace seemed to run all the time. I adjusted the thermostat setting a few degrees higher more than 2 times, because the condo felt chilly. The furnace simply couldn’t keep up with demand. My energy bills were sizable. I should have realized that these were all warning signs of a problem with the furnace. Instead, I totally ignored the problems until the furnace quit completely. It failed while in the middle of the evening, when the weather was so freezing there was no way every one of us could get by separate from heat. I distraught about the water pipes cold as well as bursting. I had no choice however to pay extra for emergency furnace repair. The serviceman who fixed the furnace told myself and others that the malfunction was entirely caused by a buildup of dust within the mechanism. He said that seasonal service would have prevented the need for the super luxurious service call. He also told myself and others that I was particularly lucky the failure of the furnace hadn’t resulted in a crack in the heat exchanger. Because I’d neglected annual tune-ups, the warranty didn’t cover the cost of parts or labor.
