I could not believe it when my radiant heated floors suddenly stopped working.
This was something that never happened in the 3 years that I have had them.
I called the local heating and air conditioning company and had them send out a certified heat and a/c specialist to fix them. It turned out the reason the radiant heated floors fully stopped working was because something was slammed on the floor very hard and it knocked something out of place. I was not aware that radiant heated floors were so sensitive! But now that I know I will be extra careful not to slam anything down on the radiant heated floors. Not only because I do not want them to break again, but because the repair of the radiant heated floors cost a little more than your standard heating and air conditioning repair. That is because radiant heated floors require the tile to be torn up by the heating and air conditioning specialist to have a look at them and then repair the problem. You are actually having to pay for extra heating and air conditioning company labor is the main reason it is more pricey than the standard heat and a/c system repair. But now I know what caused it I will just have to be more careful like I was saying. Radiant heated floors are nice to have and they heat the home well, but you need to treat them with extra care. I just wish that was explained when I first got them!
